Legos Never Looked So Badass

I wouldn’t want to run into these adorable little toys in a dark alley.

Stop-Motion Artist Blu Has Done It Again

We’ve seen Blu’s work here before…he’s known for impressive large-scale animations that often take weeks to complete.  His incredible new video is called “Big Bang Big Boom”, which he describes as “an unscientific point of view on the beginning and evolution of life…and how it could probably end.”

Food Ballet…Minus The Tutus

Get your culture fix (sort of) with this food ballet.  If your co-workers eavesdrop and hear the Debussy classical piano coming from your computer, nod your head slowly and say, “Nice pirouette, Baryshinikov”…they’ll be impressed with your level of sophistication and never know you’re watching gummi bears, cupcakes, and pineapples strut their stuff.

Kinda Cool Cinema: 7 Incredible Stop-Motion Videos

There’s a special place in my geeky heart for stop-motion videos…not just because of their creative and technical accomplishments, but also because I’m incredibly jealous of the amount of time the creators have to make the vids.  I barely have 15 free minutes a day – probably not even enough time to make a crappy 1 second stop-motion sequence.

Here are 7 impressive videos that I absolutely love.  Sit back & enjoy:

“Roof Sex” – An oldie, but definitely my all-time favorite:

“T-Shirt War”

“Michael Jackson vs. Mr. Bean”

“Bad Apple” – extra bonus:  crazy J-pop music by Nomico

“The Fastest Yellow & Red” – a car chase that starts out slow and then gets INSANE

Legos + “The Matrix” = Woah

10 years ago (!!!), my friends and I stood in line for 5 hours to see the premiere screening of “The Matrix”.  Yes, we were (are) dorks.  The iconic “bullet-time” scene has been imitated and parodied countless times since then – here’s a recent re-enactment using everyone’s favorite toy:  Legos.

Taking Graffiti To A Whole New Level

This stop-motion graffiti animation is by far the best and the biggest of it’s kind I’ve ever seen.  Created over 10 days, it was made for the Southern Italian art festival “Fame”, by a street artist from Bologna named Blu, and filmmaker/musician David Ellis.  Enjoy -

Who Knew Post-Its Could Be So…Interesting?

I’m a sucker for Post-It Notes… admittedly, I use them for lame things (like my neurotic to-do list) – but randomly over the past few days, I’ve stumbled on photos and videos of wildly creative ways that people are using Post-Its. They obviously have a LOT of free time.
