OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Dice)

My friends know that I have a thing for dice – it all kicked off when I read the spectacular book, “The Dice Man”, by Luke Rhinehart.  Read it…trust me.  But as much as I love those little cubes, artist Anthony Cragg is OBSESSED.  Check out these ridiculously amazing dice sculptures.

Boring White Living Room: From Blah To Bam!

3d Projection Mapping videos have been featured here on TITAKC before – all of them involve images and videos displayed on large-scale buildings.  Now for something completely different -

I stumbled on this video created by Mr. Beam…it’s probably the most practical application of the technology I’ve seen yet – imagine being able to completely redecorate your living room with just the click of a button.  For incredibly indecisive and commitment-phobic Libras like myself, this is a dream:

I Lego NY

Designer Christopher Niemann doesn’t need 5000 legos and 50 hours of painstaking work to build his NYC-inspired creations.  The former New Yorker’s refreshingly simple vignettes were originally dreamed up using his son’s toys during a bleak winter in Berlin.  Whether it was homesickness or boredom that sparked Niemann’s creativity, there’s something undeniably charming about the images that fill up his book, “I Lego NY“.  Here are some of my favorites:

Dude, I Think There’s A Man In Your Clock. Woah…

Check this out…it looks like there’s a man behind the clock’s glass changing the time each minute by drawing the hands on with a marker.  It’s actually a flatscreen playing a video loop of Dutch designer Maarten Bass drawing, erasing and re-drawing each minute.  I can’t even imagine having the patience (and time) to do this.  Wow.
