Berlin TV Tower – 3..2..1..LIFTOFF
Berlin’s TV Tower (called “Fernsehturm” in German) is one of the most iconic landmarks in the city (2nd only to the Berlin Wall). When the sun hits the metal dome, a reflection in the shape of a cross can be seen across its surface. So, as a jab against the atheist founders of Communism, rebellious Berliners gave the TV Tower the nickname “Pope’s Revenge”. OK, enough history lesson for today.
Earlier this year, I took a quick vacation to Berlin and ate an amazing lunch in the revolving restaurant in the TV Tower’s dome. It happened to be in the middle of a wild snowstorm, so the view, while a bit obstructed, was breathtaking:
