3D…Without Those Nerdy Glasses

The quasi-3D effect is from a simple technology called ‘wiggle stereoscopy‘, where two almost-identical images are quickly alternated back and forth.  Remember when you were in college and you’d stare at those fuzzy pictures until you saw a 3D image?  This is essentially the same thing, except without the nauseating cross-eyed headache.

***If you want to create your own 3D images (and you’re not afraid of a little Javascript) check out this tutorial.  There are also a few user-friendly iPhone apps that make ‘wiggle stereoscopy’ simple.
